The indie horror scene on PC is always throwing out breakout hits, and a lot of them wind up on consoles. The latest of these is Amanda the Adventurer, which comes to PS5 and PS4 on 10th October, 2024.
The game is a mystery at its core; you discover a bunch of video tapes in an attic, each playing episodes of the titular kid's TV show. While it's presented as a saccharine educational program, things take an unsettling turn as you learn more about Amanda the Adventurer.
It's a combination of point-and-click and first-person as you solve puzzles in both perspectives to get to the bottom of the creepy mystery.
Critically the game has done pretty well for itself, but thousands of user reviews on Steam award it an Overwhelmingly Positive rating.
Horror fans may be in for a treat as this launches in the lead-up to Halloween. Will you be playing Amanda the Adventurer? Press play in the comments section below.

Never heard of it but if it is anything like some of the other excellent indies to come out and surprise people (Doki Doki) then we are in for a treat.
It's pretty good. And only about 2-3 hours long, which is a perfect for an appetizer/dessert between longer games.
Saw Super Gaming Bros. cover this for last year's Halloween Fest it was really good looked like a great little horror experience I think there's a sequel on the way too
Perfect timing! I am in full SPOOK-tober mode!
It does seem deeply ironic that there’s far far more faux-kiddy content that’s actually horror based than actual stuff for kids. No wonder they watch Cocomelon sh*te, there’s zero safe spaces for them out there. They’re doing the same with those rubbish Winnie the Pooh horror movies too, subversion of kid content is so overdone.
Oh I see they are out to traumatize the dora the explorer generation.
@nessisonett a lot of it is people nostalgic for the content of their youths twisting it into something dark, I don't mind most of it to be honest, my daughter loves all this mascot/kidstv horror.
